KAMPALA – In a closely contested match, Uganda stopped an unbeaten Botswana Under-21 side by beating the host 46-42 as the Netball World Youth Cup enters day three in the capital Gaborone on Monday.Riding on a wave of support, the host hammered Malaysia 72-26 on the opening game on 8 July and went on to beat Cook Islands 50-41 on 9 July.
But on 10 July, Botswana met a formidable side in Uganda as the two teams were breathing down each other’s neck as the game wore on until it came to an end with Uganda emerging victorious.
The Ugandans had made their intentions known as they gave the host a run for their money by dominating the first stanza of the game with their quick interchange style of play and took a seven-point lead at the beginning of the game.
