Senior Four results out tomorrow

KAMPALA. Education minister Janet Museveni is tomorrow expected to release the results for Senior Four students who took Uganda Certificate of Education examination (UCE) last year.

Mr Patrick Muinda, the ministry spokesperson, confirmed to Daily Monitor in a telephone interview that the minister will formally release the results at 11am in the auditorium of the Prime Minister’s office.

This is after the Uganda National Examination Board (Uneb) yesterday briefed top Education ministry officials on the students’ performance.

Unlike in previous cases, Ms Museveni did not attend the briefing in person and there was no explanation about her absence.

“I can confirm that the minister of Education will release the UCE examination results tomorrow,” Mr Muinda said.

Some 326, 149 students sat for the 2017 final O-Level examinations, which was rocked with alleged massive leaks.

Uneb at the time ignored calls by sections of the public to cancel affected papers and set fresh ones.

Chemistry, Christian Religious Education (CRE) and Biology papers are some of the leaked papers that widely circulated on watsapp.

Daily Monitor broke news of the exams leak, leading to the arrest of dozens of suspects, including heat teachers, teachers and Uneb supervisors, some of whom are being prosecuted.
