Kabale NRM boss airlifted to Nakasero hospital

The Kabale District National Resistance Movement (NRM) treasurer, Mr Christopher Mulenga, was on Saturday airlifted to Nakasero hospital while in critical condition.

Mr Mulenga who is also the district party Chief Whip was airlifted in a Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) chopper registration number AF-603 at exactly 01:30PM.

A family member told this reporter on condition of anonymity that Mr Mulenga fainted and slid in a bathroom on Wednesday while at home in Ihimbi cell, Northern division, Kabale municipality and got injured.

The family member added that though Mr Mulenga was admitted at Muhunde clinic in Kabale town, he failed to show any signs of improvement.

The Kabale Resident District Commissioner, Mr Darias Nandiinda said that Mr Mulenga was airlifted in a UPDF chopper because he was in a bad condition that could have been difficult for him to travel by road.

According Nandiinda, Mr Mulenga was airlifted on orders of President Museveni.

Mr Edison Turyahabwa, the district Party Publicity Secretary hailed president Museveni for making sure that Mulenga got immediate transport means to rush him to a bigger hospital, since his condition is worrying.
