Museveni set for Bagwere cultural fete

BUDAKA. President Museveni is today expected to grace the third coronation anniversary of Bugwere cultural leader, Bishop John Weyabire.

The ceremony, set for Budaka Saza grounds will also be attended by cultural leaders, the institution’s premier Badru Kirya said yesterday.

“Several activities have been lined up to mark the anniversary, key among them is the launch of our five-year development plans,” he said.

Mr Kirya said other activities will include a cultural gala showcasing norms and practices of his people through music, dance and drama.

He added that the development plan aims at improving health, education, agro-forestry and setting up land tribunals to handle land conflicts in the area.

Mr Kirya said clan competitions in football, bicycle racing and local music have also been organised to spice up the occasion.

“The local leader should mobilise the people to attend the anniversary in large numbers to show our strengths,” he said.
Bishop Weyabire assumed the throne on July 6, 2013.
