Kibuku County MP injured in car accident

KIBUKU- Kibuku County Member of Parliament, Mr Hebert Kinobere has been injured in a car accident on the Mbale-Tirinyi Highway.

The MP and his colleagues were on Sunday travelling from Kibuku District to Kampala.

The accident occurred at about 8:30 pm at Namutumba, after the MP’s driver hit a pavement while trying to avoid knocking a boda-boda rider who suddenly joined the highway, according to witnesses.

Mr Kinobere and his driver were rushed to Mulago Hospital while the other three injured victims, who were travelling with the MP, are receiving treatment at a health centre in Namutumba town.

Mr Julius Gobolo, the Regional police commander said last week road accidents are on the rise in Bukedi sub-region.
