At least 222 schools are being monitored on suspicion of plotting to cheat in the forthcoming national exams, Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed has said.
Speaking Monday at the Kenya School of Government during a briefing on exams preparedness, Ms Mohamed also warned that those who will be found cheating will be punished severely.
“We are also engaging the Attorney-General’s office and the Director of Public Prosecutions who how to deal with those planning on cheating,” said the CS.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i disclosed that 70,000 officers will be deployed to guard the exams.
Dr Matiang’i assured candidates and the general public that security will be beefed up to ensure that the exams run smoothly.
