Eritrean man jailed two years after attacking three police officers, doctor

An Eritrean man was sentenced to two years in prison and fined €5,000 after pleading guilty to attacking three police officers and a doctor in Gozo.

The incident took place on the night between 26 and 27 June in Marsalforn.

The man, aged 28 and resident in Zebbug, Gozo, was also charged with threatening, insulting and causing slight injuries to the officers. He was also charged with threatening and insulting a doctor at the Gozo Hospital.

The prosecution was led by Inspector Josef Gauci.
