Addis Ababa, Ethiopia— Despite humanitarian challenges, the federal government has accelerated its urban renewal program.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed conducted an inspection tour of eastern Ethiopia this week, reviewing progress on the Dire Dawa corridor development.
The project, which includes electric vehicle charging stations, pedestrian zones, and urban farming initiatives, is part of a broader strategy to transform regional cities into productive economic hubs.
This push for digital governance and modernized public services, exemplified by the new MESOB One-Stop center, aims to strengthen Ethiopia’s institutional competitiveness as it seeks to attract major international mining and logistics investments.
