KIGALI – The Rwandan government remained silent Tuesday following a fresh round of U.S. Treasury sanctions targeting senior Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) officials over their alleged role in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The sanctions allege that Kigali continues to provide advanced equipment and GPS jamming technology to M23 rebels.
Despite international condemnation and the suspension of aid from partners like Belgium, Rwanda maintains its vision for economic transformation.
The “Vision 2050” agenda remains the focus in Kigali, where the government is attempting to pivot from subsistence agriculture to a service-based economy.
