DJIBOUTI CITY – Djibouti’s strategic importance as a maritime gateway was reaffirmed Tuesday as government officials met with international naval commanders to discuss Red Sea security.

With 95 percent of Djibouti’s port activity fueled by Ethiopian trade, the government is focusing on “inland resilience.”
